Dual P3's + 2L High Quality H2O = ?
A couple of things, actually. Let's start with an empty wallet. Ok, 'nuff said on that. Some others include overclocking, lots of headaches, and a whole lot of fun.

We've all had that thought dancing around in our mind. "I'm gonna try watercooling." It's not for everyone though. You have to be the kind of person (idiot) to subject thousands of dollars worth of computer components to it's own natural enemy, water. Not only that, but you also have to spend exhorbanent amounts of money to do it. And for what? A few MHz? Self-gratification? To be the envy of all your friends? It doesn't really matter. Whatever the reason, this article will explain, with really pretty pics, how to take watercooling to the extreme.

First, you gotta have a plan. I know this may be hard for some people, but this is a must. I chose the following components based on space limitations, efficiency, overall quality, and appearance. I made a shopping list:

  • Waterblocks are a-MAZE-ing copper blocks from DangerDen
  • Radiator is a Copper cooling cube from DangerDen
  • Clamps are elegant Socket 370 hold downs from DangerDen
  • Water was split using a total of 4 Nylon "T" fittings 3/8" I.D.
  • Tubing is Local Plumbing store Clear Silicon Tubing, 1/2" O.D. 3/8" I.D., picked up 20ft. for good measure
  • Pump is a Little Giant outdoor submersible pond pump. Specs are 12' lift MAX, 320GPH @ 1' lift.
  • 4oz. bottle of RedLine Water Wetter from DangerDen
  • Reservoir is a modified cereal bag Stay Fresh container from Wal-Mart
  • Hose clamps are standard stainless steel 1/2" adj. clamps
  • Five Sunon 120mm 3pin fans, five chrome wire grills from 2CoolTek
  • Two Sunon high output 80mm 4pin fans, two 80mm chrome wire grills from 2CoolTek
  • One ThermalTake Golden Orb from 2CoolTek
  • Two Gallons of distilled water from Wal-Mart
  • Two Kiddie Cereal bowls (blue) from Wal-Mart
  • Assorted pack of Closed-Cell foam (neoprene) from DangerDen
  • Lots of dremel cutoff wheels, sanding wheels, etc., some new metal cutting jigsaw blades
  • Lots of machine screws and nuts, 8/32 Dia. 1/2" and 3/8" long.

    Here are some pics:

hrmm...well, enough of that. Now let's put it all together. This should only take about 20 mins, right? Moving right along.
