Test System Configuration:
I will be testing this video card in my current high end AMD machine. The current setup I have is a highly overclocked AMD XP processor. My machine specs are as follows :
- AMD XP 1700+ t-bred B processor @ 2.4 gigahertz (12 multi X 200 FSB).
- ABIT NF-7 motherboard.
- 512 (2x256MB) Corsair XMS PC3500 memory.
- Maxtor DiamondMax 80GB 7200RPM 8MB cache primary HDD.
- Maxtor DiamondMax 120GB 7200RPM 8MB cache secondary HDD.
- Onboard NIC
- Creative Labs Audigy sound card.
- WindowsXP Professional w/SP1.
- nVidia DetonatorXP Drivers, ver. 45.23.
- DirectX 9B.
Benchmark software used:
- Comanche 4 Demo.
- Code Creatures.
- 3DMark03.
- 3DMark01SE.
- GunMetal Benchmark 2 (benchmark 1 and 2).
Note:
I am going to provide you screenshots that were taken from the benchmarks ran so you can compare them to other reviews of FX cards to see where this card fits in. The only other DirectX 9 based card I own is the 9700 Pro which is not in the same league as this FX card. The following benchmarks all ran using stock settings except for the Comanche 4 demo which I turned the resolution up from 800X600 to 1024X768 which I consider the base resolution to play any game on.
