Galaxy 120mm UV Reactive Fans

Normally most people when thinking about fans for modding their cases is 80mm fans in all different flavors from plain old black to multi-colored LED fans. Well nowadays you have a bunch of options from not only kick butt 80mm to 92mm but you also have the 120mm fans to chose from also. And my way of thinking is bigger is better. What we have here is a trio of Galaxy 120mm UV reactive case fans from Case-Mod.com and boy are they nice! I would also like to thank them for including a couple nice UV Cold Cathode tubes, which they also sell, for the review. When I am talking about UV reactive that means they show their true colors only under UV lighting. I will show you what I mean in a second.

If you have never personally seen a 120mm fan they are huge! I have always loved large fans. And not only are these large they don't have LED's in them they are just UV reactive which gives them a totally different look. Here they are! I am also showing the UV Cold Cathode that was supplied for this review as well.

As you can tell with anything large that you try to put into your case you have to have room for it. So with some simple engineering skills and imagination you could put these into just about anything. These fans move an amazing 70cfm of air and you don't have the noise to tell you they are doing their job! They are actually pretty quiet at doing what they do best!

It is very hard to photograph anything that is UV or UV reactive with any good results, but I did the best I could. They are much more colorful in real life.
The CCFL's they sent us for the review did the lighting job very well. Here are some good pictures to show you how it looks in action. The CCFL on the left is from Sunbeam Technology.The one on the right is from Case-Mod.com

As you can see they booth do an equal job of light coverage but the SVC branded CCFL we got from Case-Mod.com lacked the opaque stripes that the Sunbeam CCFLs had, which makes the Sunbeam CCFLs appear to be brighter.

Doesn't that fan look awesome sitting in that case. I just wanted to include a few pics to give you an idea of how these fans look when installed, and backlit with a UV CCFL.
Conclusion:
I was very pleased with these fans. They are quiet and very easy on the eyes. They would compliment any case they were installed in. As far as the pro's they pull alot of air, are very quiet and won't hurt the pocket book at around $12USD. The cons, if you just don't have large enough case to fit them in and you must also have UV Cold Cathode lighting to use them of course. But that can be overcome by purchasing some UV lights for around $15USD that are also available from Case-Mod.com. So with a very minimal investment you have one of the neater mods. Anyways, I have to award a 5x rating on these kick ass fans! You definitely wouldn't be disappointed!
