The face plate is now painted to match my case, and I think it turned out really nice. It looks much better that it did when it was white.

Now the hard drive cooler is fully assembled and ready for it's new home in my server case. I decided to house my 20GB Maxtor backup drive in it, and now all my other hard drives are going to be jealous! I might have to get a few more of these to keep everyone happy...

Installation complete! After the paint job, this is one nice looking hard drive cooler. Installation was a breeze, and the fit was perfect. Now, on to the performance numbers...
I will let the numbers speak for themselves. This is a very impressive drop in temperature, and could prolong the life of the hard drive and improve performance a little, but probably not enough to be noticable.
Conclusion.
As I mentioned before, this is the only hard drive cooler I have seen that actually worked to lower drive temps. Fan-only solutions simply don't work because they cant dissipate enough heat off of the flat surface of the drive. I couldn't find a single thing about the hdd_HO that I didn't like except for the color, but white or beige is pretty much standard, so it won't count against the rating at all.

This is a high quality cooler that was thoughtfully designed, and works better than any cooler I have encountered. PCExtreme gives 1CoolPC's hdd_HO the highest rating possible: 5X's!
