
We stepped up the core voltage to 1.85 to get the chip to post at 3Ghz, but it posted.
...and promptly crashed.
So after all was said and done, we ended up with good stable overclock at 2.97Ghz. This kind of overclock is not possible on many motherboards out there. It took some serious tweaking to get the chip to run rock solid at this speed with air cooling, due in no small part to the Softmenu overclocking options that ABIT is so well known for.
