Open Media Files in the WMP Mini Player Mode

by PC Freak on December 5, 2007

Here’s a tip to make Windows Media Player open media file in Mini Player Mode. To our ever increasing collection of media files whenever we click on our music files (i.e., mp3, wma) it opens up the default Windows Media Player setup. But for testing or searching or sampling our music it’s unecessary to open up the full-sized windows so the Mini Player Mode is your best bet.

Open up your Windows Media Player, Click Tools, Go to Options page  check out the “Player” tab.

look for the “Start the mini Player for file names that contain this text” that has a default value on it’s field “voiceatt.wav”.

By doing this simple adjustment You can open your Mp3 or Wma files in the mini player, by changing “voiceatt.wav” to .mp3 or .wma on that field.

And What’s more cool and fun to look at is that the Vista version has desktop transparency, and that’s what I like better than XP.
