Unmountable Boot Volume Error Fix
Unmountable Boot Volume Error Fix for Windows XP
Let’s go back to Wndows XP just this once because a my friend’s friend had friend that had a problem with her Windows XP. It was experiencing the BSOD (blue screen of death) after boot up with “unmountable boot volume” error. She was crying, so I stepped in to help her in her plight ” Fix my PC please”, she told me. And this is what I did.
- I put in the Windows XP disk
- Booted Using the Windows XP Disk. ( of course you have to set your boot order from the BIOS setup to CD-ROM first)
- On the “Welcome to Setup” page, press “R” to go to recovery mode.
- On the DOS prompt, type “chkdsk C: /r” (fix yourself a cup of coffee, it might take a while)
- Then type “fixboot” and hit enter. Press “Y” at the prompt, hit enter, and then type “exit” and hit enter.
After Fixing her PC, my reward was a kiss, and a treat for her knight in shinning armor… me… hahahah!
