These days, it seems everyone has a CD-RW drive in their PC. We are now seeing DVD recorders as well, but the majority of PC's out there at least have a CD-RW. Prices are now well below the $100 mark, so if you don't have one now is a great time to get one. Most retail CD-RW drives will include some recording software of some sort, but STOMP Inc's RecordNow MAX is definitely above and beyond what you will find with most other recording suites. Some of the more notable functions of RecordNow MAX is its ability to burn DVDs, and its packet writing feature which enables you to write to a CD-R disk as you would a Zip disk or floppy.

Installation was painless, and fast. I was quickly greeted by the installation wizard which stepped me through the setup process and made installation a no-brainer.
After the installation of the main program, I was prompted to install DLA and let it disable WindowsXP's CD buring software. Since DLA is a cool feature I wanted to have, I went ahead with the install.
With the installation complete, its now time to fire it up and see what it's got. I have to say that I am really impressed with the user interface. It is very well laid out and easy to understand. On startup, the wizard offers 4 choices:
- Make an exact copy of a disc
- Make a music disc
- Make a data disc
- Exit the wizard.
