What this card is basicly, is a Ti4200 that comes overclocked from the factory with one of the best GPU aircooling solutions created to date. But, this particular card is more than that. It comes with 128MB of fast 3.8ns DDR memory and is capable of 8X AGP, making it the fastest Ti4200 based video card available to date.
Packaging:
As with all ABIT products I have ever seen, the Siluro Ti4200 OTES-8X comes in a very attractive box. It is packaged so that the OTES is viewable from a clear window in the side of the box. Inside the package, you will find a very tightly packaged card, the driver CD, and a couple of software CDs and game demos which include:

A Closer Look:

The main thing that catches your attention about this card is the cooling system. The Outside Thermal Exhaust System that has been designed and implemented by ABIT is the most effective video card cooling system I have ever seen. It removes heat from the GPU through a vacuum created by the 7200 RPM blower and moves it though a heat pipe to be ejected out the back of the case which helps to reduce the overall ambient temperature inside the case as well.

This is the same system that the GeForceFX cards use in all the pre-production photos I have seen, so obviously nVidia was as impressed with the design as well. The plastic housing on the OTES creates a vacuum that completely removes heat from the board, making it as efficient as most watercooling solutions enabling it's higher operating frequency, and prolonging the life of the card. A stock Ti4200 core operates at 250Mhz, but the Siluro Ti4200 OTES core operates at 275Mhz. Also a stock Ti4200 has memory clock of 444Mhz, the Siluro Ti4200 OTES comes from the factory with a memory clock of 500Mhz - just 50Mhz short of Ti4400 spec. There is a vast selection of GeForce4 cards on the market today, and the ABIT Siluro Ti4200 comes in 4 flavors alone, so when chosing your card, it's important to pay close attention to the specs so you get what you want. These are the Siluro Ti4200 cards available:

This is a nifty device that ABIT calls the "X-fixer". It serves it's purpose well by securing the OTES in place and it also helps to dissipate heat from the back of the card and GPU.

One thing about the Siluro Ti4200-8X OTES that might present a problem is the fact that it takes up 2 slots in your PC. It will not only take your AGP slot but it will also hog the PCI slot directly below. With so many mainboards today having built in sound and LAN, this may not present much of a problem as was the case in our test rig. But if you have all of your PCI slots populated, this will present a problem and force you to lose a PCI card.
