Sunbeam Company, headquartered in Taipei County Taiwan, launched as a promising new company in the field of optoelectronics in 2000, specializing in development of cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) which mainly applied on in LCD backlight, scanners, automation in office and decorations.

Today Sunbeam Company focuses on PC modifying and aims to supply top-notch products to satisfy modders all over the world. Over the past year, they have updated inventory and improved standards to meet the needs of their customers and tweakers. Sunbeam's commitment to excellence is apparent in each of their products and the customer service they offer is second to none. They are one of the few companies that I can think of that actually listen to and consider the opinions of their customers, and this is what gives them the edge they have over the competetion.

This is the first batch of Sunbeam CCFL's that didn't arrive in a generic cardboard box. They now have very nice looking commercial packaging. If there was anything that was substandard about the product previously, it was simply the vanilla cardboard box that they shipped in. Now even that is in the past.

Sunbeam packs everything you need for your CCFL setup. The kit includes the cathode tube(s) themselves, a fully assembled wiring harness, a nice power inverter with dual outputs, high quality rocker type power switch, instruction booklet, and a bag of extra stuff that includes velcro strips and a plastic ring that can be used for a template to cut the hole for the power switch. This is by far the best commercially packaged CCFL I have seen. The pic on the left contains two 10cm CCFL's, and the right pic is a single 30cm CCFL.

A closeup of the CCFL's shows the outstanding quality that is put into these things. The rigid acrylic casing around the glass tubes protects them from breakage. Sunbeam goes a step beyond that and even puts a removable clear plastic film around the acrylic to help prevent scratches. It doesn't get much better that that, folks.
