In a move that is expected to help Panda Security Systems gain some headway as far as building on their place in the software security category, Panda Security and Dell Computers have reportedly come to terms for the latter to distribute the said security solutions to clients in Latin America. The agreement covers Mexico, Central America, Colombia and the Caribbean and offers Panda Security’s consumer and business security solutions to Dell’s home-user and business clients, respectively.
Panda Antivirus Pro 2009, Panda Internet Security 2009 and Panda Global Protection 2009 will be available from Dell’s distribution centers across Latin America. Dell will also distribute Panda Managed Office Protection, Panda Security’s hosted anti-malware service for small and medium businesses and value added resellers serving the SMB market.
Dell will distribute Panda Security solutions through several channels, including Electronic Software Distribution, physical boxes, licensing and ESD licensing. The agreement also includes INTCOMEX, one of the largest VARs in the region: “Through effective use of our global resources and strong relations with industry-leading vendors such as Panda Security and DELL, we aim to construct a profitable, long-term business community,” said Yosef Kroitoro, vice president of business development at Intcomex.
“For Panda Security, the alliance with Dell is very important as it allows us to deliver our technology to more customers in South America. It is also indicative of Panda’s strong commitment to our channel partners in the region,” explains Benjamin Kroitoro, general manager of Panda Security Mexico and Panama. “This agreement further validates how close alignment with our distribution channel provides the best growth opportunities and benefits for all involved – in this case, our mutual customers, Dell, Intcomex and Panda Security.”
